ARTS MILTON Highlights Milton’s Diverse arts and Culture

-

In the last decade, Milton has grown in leaps and bounds. Alongside the erection of new homes and businesses, Milton’s art and culture scene has also been steadily growing and evolving.

Behind the scenes, not-for-profit group Arts Milton has been working hard to give local artists and arts groups a platform within the community. Arts Milton’s mission is to connect artists of all genres and levels of experience with the greater Milton community, in the spirit of facilitating creative expression and cultural enrichment. They offer programs that range from artist networking nights, a Summer Days music series, The Friendship Project arts program for newcomer and community families, and Milton Culture Days.

Milton Culture Days takes place each year over the last weekend in September at the First Ontario Arts Centre Milton. During this three-day event, local artists, organizations, and small businesses come together to provide a wide variety of free, interactive activities for Miltonians to enjoy. It’s the perfect opportunity to discover something new and gets hands-on and behind-the-scenes in your own community!

The Culture Days weekend kicks off each year with a Friday Night (September 27th, 2019) Launch Event. Open to the public, this art party invites attendees to get their bodies moving while they mingle with artists of all genres.

Over 60+ activities for all ages are available on the Saturday and Sunday (September 28th and 29th, 2019) of Milton Culture Days. The drop-in workshops and performances include heritage, art, craft, dance, theatre, music, technology and more. Come and be a part of the fun!
