It has been an eventful few weeks leading up to the production of this issue. Spring is always a busy time for our family. With my husband owning a landscaping company, the start of the season is always bustling! This year, we decided to take a few days to slow things down. My husband, Dan and I, booked ourselves a flight to the west coast to visit his father. We had never been out there, and it was a real blessing to have those few days with family. I’m not sure how long I would have had to be out there to get over how beautiful that entire region is! We went on lots of adventures and trips to local wineries. I was even able to cross off an item on my bucket list: I attended my first real-life rodeo! Little did I know my teenager back at home would have a very different kind of adventure of her own. Just as we returned from our trip, she began complaining of stomach pain and before we knew it, we were at the Milton District Hospital for her emergency appendectomy! I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the absolutely spectacular facility we have here in Milton. Not only is it beautiful after the renovation, but the resources we now have is something to be very proud of. It’s no longer a small town hospital; the level of care and compassion we received during our visit and overnight stay was remarkable. A huge thank you to all the health care professionals who work so hard everyday to care for our community.
I hope you enjoy the summer issue of Family Matters Magazine. As always, I encourage you to connect with our sponsors and advertisers. Let them know you saw them in Family Matters!
