I Will Gladly Pay the Price Increase to the Fall Fair

-

As a Miltonian and a lover of all things Fall, the Milton Fall Fair, or any Fall Fair, is always a real treat for me.

Every year, hard working volunteers put together a great event with a midway, a demolition derby, truck and tractor pull, a petting zoo and so much more!  The cost has typically been $10 for admission.  It has always featured local bands as well.  This year, the charge for the Friday only, will be increased to $20.  While some are frowning on the price increase.  I thought I would try to shed some light.

This year, the Friday night will feature some Rising Stars in the Country Music Industry.  River Town Saints out of Ottawa, Alessia Cohle out of Mississauga and One Ugly Cowboy out of Toronto.  No, they are not necessarily local bands, since they are not from Milton specifically, but we are still talking as local as Southern Ontario. Also, keep in mind, RTS are the 2017 CMAO Winners for Single of the Year, for Cherry Bomb and Alessia Cohle’s new single Wanderlust is now playing on 100.3 !

After speaking organizers, I learned that the concert will not take place on the usual Market Stage between the food vendors and the midway. No, this, my friends, is going to be big! This year, organisers are bringing in a Stageline Touring Concert Stage (32′ x 24′) with LED video wall, two camera live video shoot and concert sound and lighting system, to the centre of the Fairgrounds, in front of the Grandstand, beside the Beer Tent.  It’s kind of a big deal!

As a non-profit organization, funds are needed to put the event on next year and every year after that.  The admission goes right back into our community.  Organisers are always working hard to bring bigger and better things to the Fall Fair. The $20 on Friday night, is for those of us who see the value.  It’s all relative, I guess.  I myself am going to clear my schedule, throw my lawn chair in the car and head over in time to grab a spot front and centre stage! For those who would prefer to do without the show or would simply prefer to pay $10 admission, or even better, a family pack deal, please consider coming out to this wonderful community event on Saturday and Sunday!

See you there!
